Position overview:
As a Sustainability Research Analyst, you will support Ball’s Global Sustainability and Public Affairs team by delivering data-driven insights on packaging sustainability and circularity. The role focuses on sustainability data analytics, and reporting—translating complex data into clear, credible insights for internal stakeholders and customers. This position contributes to Ball’s thought leadership in sustainable packaging and supports both customer‑facing and regulatory sustainability initiatives.
Key responsibilities include
- Conduct high quality sustainability analysis using data analytical tools to track and evaluate the company’s environmental performance accross different fronts
- Develop data-driven approaches to generate sustainability insights
- Conduct sustainability and circularity research, including collection, management, and analysis of internal and external datasets.
- Maintain and develop global sustainability databases (e.g., recycling rates, carbon modeling inputs, regional assumptions).
- Support development of business intelligence tools and sustainability KPIs for internal dashboards and external reporting.
- Respond to customer and regional requests related to GHG emissions and sustainability metrics.
What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis, sustainability research, or LCA-related roles

Experience with large databases, analytical tools, and programming languages (e.g., VBA, SQL, Python)

Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences

Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot)

Knowledge of carbon footprinting, LCA concepts, and sustainability datasets/tools is a strong advantage

Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a global, matrix environment

Strong communication skills in English
