Position overview:
As the Regional EHS Engineer (Engineering), you are a key member of the EHS and Engineering team in Ball Beverage Packaging EMEA, reporting to the Regional EHS Manager.
You will contribute to the success of Ball by providing expert Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) support to the EMEA Engineering and Capital Projects teams, ensuring that all engineering and construction projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with Ball’s operational excellence standards.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple functions — from Growth and Construction Projects to Sustainability and Customer Quality — driving safe practices, process consistency, and compliance throughout the region.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Providing EHS functional and technical support to EMEA Engineering, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Sustainability, and Customer Quality teams.
- Supporting on-site EHS for growth, expansion, and construction projects across the region.
- Coordinating and facilitating quarterly Safety Meetings for EMEA Engineering and Capital Projects teams.
- Developing and executing the Engineering EHS Improvement Plan in alignment with regional objectives.
- Leading and maintaining key EHS documentation, procedures, and standards in SharePoint and Enablon.
- Supporting Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Root Cause Analyses, including follow-up actions and lessons learned.
- Developing and delivering EHS training materials and managing training matrices and needs analyses.
- Maintaining and improving the Safety Passport System for EMEA Engineering and Capital Projects teams.
- Aligning regional EHS practices with Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) EHS pillars.
- Supporting EHS reporting, performance tracking, and KPI management for regional and functional teams.
- Assisting in EHS IT systems, travel safety programs (ISOS, Travel Tracker), and data consolidation activities.
- Collaborating closely with site EHS Managers to ensure the execution of regional strategy and continuous improvement.
What are we looking for?
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS or manufacturing environment, preferably within an international company.
- Proven ability to manage EHS projects and support cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and EHS systems (e.g. Enablon, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical, pragmatic, and solutions-focused mindset.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); an additional European language is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally
