Position overview: 

 

The EHS Advisor is responsible for ensuring full compliance with environmental, health, safety, and legal requirements at the plant. The role focuses on developing and implementing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, managing waste and workplace inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety requirements and/or inspections.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safety.
  • Initiates initiatives aimed at reducing accidents and improving best practices, processes, and techniques.
  • Coordinates and supervises the work of agencies, suppliers, and other service providers at the plant.
  • Member of the Food Safety / Food Defence team, with activities defined by internal procedure EQP 90 (Food Defence).
  • Organizes the hazardous and non-hazardous waste management process.
  • Conducts and participates in risk assessment procedures.
  • Participates in the development of employee training programs for safe and healthy work, training programs for employee representatives, and training programs for managers.
  • Performs inspections and provides recommendations to the employer regarding the planning, selection, use, and maintenance of work equipment, chemical substances, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participates in equipping and arranging workplaces to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
  • Organizes preventive and periodic testing of working environment conditions.
  • Organizes preventive and periodic inspections and testing of work equipment, as well as inspections and testing of electrical and lightning protection installations.
  • Proposes measures to improve working conditions, especially at workplaces with increased risk.
  • Monitors and controls the implementation of occupational health and safety measures in accordance with the employer’s OHS organization
  • Monitors the status of workplace injuries, occupational diseases, and work-related illnesses; participates in determining their causes and prepares reports with proposed corrective measures.
  • Organizes and conducts training for employees and other persons in accordance with the law, employee representatives, managers.
  • Prepares instructions for safe and healthy work and monitors their implementation.
  • Prohibits work at a workplace or the use of work equipment when an immediate danger to the life or health of employees is identified, and suspends the operation of work equipment until identified deficiencies are remedied following inspections and testing.
  • Organizes medical examinations of employees.
  • Cooperates and coordinates activities with occupational health institutions on all matters related to occupational health and safety.
  • Cooperates with employee representatives and the Occupational Health and Safety Committee on all OHS-related matters at the employer.
  • Maintains records in the field of occupational health and safety.
  • Monitors changes in regulations and aligns employer acts accordingly; follows standards and technological advancements in the field of occupational health and safety.

 

What are we looking for? 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (240 ESPB) in a scientific or technical field, including technological sciences or natural sciences, such as biological sciences, environmental protection sciences, physical sciences, or chemical sciences.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in the same or a similar role.
  • Valid license as an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor and in Fire Protection.
  • Experience in the implementation and management of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems in accordance with international standards (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental protection, occupational health, and safety legislation.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluency in English.
