Position overview:
As the Capital Controller, you are a key member of the regional Finance team, responsible for capital planning, analysis, and financial control across the European region.
You will contribute to the success of the business by acting as a trusted finance partner to Operations, Engineering, and FP&A teams, ensuring disciplined capital investment decisions, strong governance, and transparent reporting.
This role has a strong focus on reviewing capital expenditure requests, controlling regional capital budgets, and maintaining accurate and consistent capital tracking and reporting across the EMEA region, in line with company policies and strategic objectives.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and evaluating AFEs to ensure accurate completion, sound business justification, budget availability, and compliance with company policies
- Challenging assumptions, inputs, and methodologies for cost-saving and EVA-generative projects
- Owning the monthly capital reporting process, including reconciliation of spend, variance analysis, and reporting to key stakeholders
- Tracking and controlling capital maintenance budgets and providing budget holders with timely and accurate visibility of spend and allocation
- Leading the detailed bottom-up capital forecast process, consolidating plant inputs and aligning on key assumptions
- Providing FP&A with detailed depreciation and capitalization plans during forecast and planning cycles
- Managing Fixed Asset SOX controls on a quarterly basis to ensure strong internal control compliance
- Supporting the regional network with strategic project reporting and cost control activities
- Providing ad-hoc support for long-term capital planning and analysis
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or project controlling roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to interpret data across multiple IT systems
- Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, JDE)
- Solid understanding of capital investment processes, manufacturing costing, and business performance metrics
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple activities in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels
- Team-oriented, proactive, and stakeholder-focused, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
