Engineering Manager II - Electrical-Mechanical Design
Manage the Electrical-Mechanical Design skill set for harness design, packaging, layout, and test system and cabling design in the Electrical and Electronic Solutions organization within Engineering. This position is full time overhead and reports to the Director of Electrical and Electronics Solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for budget planning, personnel management, and execution of E-Mech support through the full program lifecycle for both space and tactical products.
- Responsible for processes and tool selection and utilization for the E-Mech disciplines.
- Maintain a close partnership with activities in other Engineering organizations – Missions and Systems, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Test and with Mission Assurance to support execution to cost objectives.
- Anticipate and ensure that the talent and skill mix of the group meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Perform candidate hiring selection process, assign appropriate staff to programs, conduct performance assessments and personnel actions, support salary reviews, recognition programs.
- Communicate staffing assignments to assignees, programs and management by way of written, verbal and meeting participation.
- Ensure employees are appropriately trained and certified to meet needs of programs as well as employee career goals.
- Develop and improve engineering processes; support Engineering Process Improvement goals, execute process corrective actions and Failure Review Boards as required; support internal and external audits, ensure compliance with AS9100 and relevant ISO standards.
- On as needed basis, lead teams to resolve critical business, programmatic, or technical issues.
- Ensure that all business is conducted with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 12 or more years of related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- A history of performance illustrating skills in being a self -starter, having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to apply sound leadership / management principles to an organization of high performing engineers developing electronics throughout the full lifecycle from proposal through delivery.
- Relevant work experience with end-to-end aerospace product development and production is preferred.
- Experience with planning all aspects of electrical product development, including architecture design, specification design, requirements tracking, and qualification of design is preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical hardware quality principles, industry standards/specifications for space and ground applications is preferred.
- Ability to interface to and co-ordinate with all engineering disciplines/organizations.
- Prior experience working in/with controlled, classified security environments is highly desirable.
Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $157,500 - $216,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
