Engineer Senior - Electrical Design

What You’ll Do:

• Apply innovative design techniques to create defense-oriented, cutting-edge electronic systems. 
  Work in a fast-paced team environment on a variety of R&D, proof of concept, and production programs.
  Design electrical subsystems that support tactical RF and antenna products.
• Design digital and analog hardware utilizing FPGAs, microprocessors, ADCs/DACs, power supplies, phased array control circuitry.
  Lead electrical technology assessments, electrical system architecture trade studies, and electrical system definition.
  Electrical subsystem interface definition, control distribution, grounding, power distribution, and EMI/EMC.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure the electrical system performance and functionality is compliant and verifiable.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Evaluate and optimize size, weight, and power.
• Present to internal and external customers.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Experience with FPGA and software development is desired.
• Familiarity with OrCAD CIS for schematic design is a plus.
• Experience in signal and power integrity analysis.
• Designing for tactical environments (temperature, shock, vibration) is a plus.
• Experience in signal and power integrity analysis.
• Hands on experience with lab power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and logic analyzers is required.
• Ability to work requirements and flow down for system/subsystem/box/board needs.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.

Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

• May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
• May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE: $133,500 - $168,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
