The Security and Mission Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit provides discriminating support to the business to ensure success. We focus on threat identification, risk assessment, and mitigation while improving the efficiency of the business through effective governance and analysis of process, data and overall business knowledge.


Information Assurance Project Manager I


In this role, you will be managing projects for the Information Security team in Security and Mission Assurance (SMA).  The Project Manager will develop clear project execution plans for Information Assurance projects in collaboration with Operations and ITS.  The Project Manager will ensure that a set of approved projects are initiated, tracked, and executed efficiently.  The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly.


What You’ll Do:


  • As project may be part of a larger program, synchronization of the project with the overall program is essential.
  • Act as liaison between program management, project team, functional management, and additional SBU/SCU stakeholders.
  • Report clear project plans, schedules, constraints, milestone and status metrics to the Enterprise Security Portfolio Manager.
  • Plan, execute, monitor, control, document, and communicate all aspects of projects: cost, schedule, scope, technical performance, and resource use.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and control the project team.
  • Develop, manage, document, and communicate project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate metrics on Authorization to Operate (ATO) of information systems.
  • Prepare and communicate status reports.
  • Evaluate and resolve project issues to meet defined goals and objectives through effective communication plans.
  • Plan, monitor, document, and execute mitigation plans for project risk.
  • Develop, use, and maintain tools to monitor project progress.
  • Recommend changes and enhancements to project operations.
  • Apply earned value management methodology for project progress and success.
  • Manage project stakeholder expectations.
  • Plan and execute all project closing activities: contract closure, compilation of lessons learned, and archiving of business artifacts.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.


What You’ll Need:


  • BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • PMP Certification is preferred.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Basic understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Background in Information Technology (IT) or Information Assurance (IA) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint.


Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:


  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $73,500 - $99,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
