SMT Technician IV
Perform a variety of technical assignments requiring knowledge of engineering, science, or other technical applications in a Research & Development environment. Assist and support engineering and manufacturing, in the development, assembly, and test of a wide variety of company products and systems. Duties are typically more task oriented (versus responsibility oriented), performed with oversight and prioritization by an engineer, supervisor, or lead, and tend to be consistent in content during day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate and program Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to build electrical assemblies.
- Perform inventory control on productions items such as creating stock identification, running BOM availability reports, and kiting projects, as required.
- Inspect incoming or production materials or articles for conformance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications; process standards and specifications; and production or process plans.
- Create and maintain inspection reports, as required
- Apply/enforce/comprehend accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings, MIL-specs, screening specs, or process certification training.
- Build or process hardware of a developmental, prototype, or critical nature.
- Operate equipment in support of building or processing hardware such as oscilloscopes, microscopes, network analyzers, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, as required.
- Troubleshoot hardware or assemblies; check and modify chambers or fixtures.
- Conduct tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data. Perform mathematical calculations.
- Assist in the development or preparation of schematics, designs, and specifications.
- May provide detailed written input for design reviews, proposals, specifications, work standards, and business processes.
- Read, comprehend, and execute technical process specifications, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain required electronic build records and process logs, records, and reports in accordance with BATC policies/procedures and government regulations.
- Implement EHS processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials, and pursue corrective action when necessary.
- May make continuous improvement suggestions and participate in initiatives to improve productivity and process efficiency.
- Lead, train, and coordinate work schedules, priorities, and tasks of other technicians.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Operate company owned vehicles as required.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and good motor vehicle record.

What You’ll Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 6 years or more related experience or a related 2-year technical degree and 4 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $27.40 - $36.78 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
