The Systems Engineering Solutions Strategic Business Unit provides advanced systems engineering and technology applications for intelligence and information enterprises. These applications and solutions deliver enterprise data management, data analytics, modeling and simulation, and technology assessment capabilities that are used to create products that offer actionable information in support of warfighters and decision makers.


Ball Aerospace’s Albuquerque, New Mexico office is a key provider of science and technology services to the Air Force Research Laboratory and other government research and development organizations. Our multi-discipline staff provides a broad range of scientific and engineering services, including: technology development; diagnostic development; highly-controlled laboratory measurements; field experiments and demonstrations; technology assessments; modeling and simulations; and analyses. Project Manager I


What You’ll Do:


  • Assist with the coordination and management of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and technicians to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements for variety of engineering and scientific projects.
  • Assist with management of the Ball’s Proposal Opportunity Tracking process using an internal Ball process.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management to purchase items to support project execution.
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of reports, briefings and other contract deliverables.
  • Work with Project Leads, managers, and customers to develop schedules and budgets.
  • Assist Technical Project Leads with planning staff resources and tracking performance by utilizing company financial tools and processes.
  • Utilize company and Government-provided tools and processes to support business operations.
  • Assist with experimental or engineer projects as required.
  • Able to acquire and learn new skills.
  • Support business development opportunities as required.
  • Work with classified information, which requires knowledge of DoD procedures for the proper usage and safeguarding of classified information.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.


What You’ll Need:


  • BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Degree in a business or technical discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Experience working in team environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common office PC-based software tools such as Word, Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience operating within classified US Government environments is preferred.


Working Conditions:


  • Work is performed primarily in the office, with excursions to laboratory or field research environment.
  • Travel and local commute between Ball offices and other non-Ball locations required.



A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.  By applying to this position, you are agreeing to complete a National Security Clearance Pre-Screen Questionnaire to evaluate your general ability to obtain the required security clearance or government customer access associated with this position.

Compensation & Benefits:


  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $71,500 - $97,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
