<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">What You’ll Do:


  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">A wide variety of antenna and RF systems test and evaluation.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">A wide variety of antenna and antenna-related RF component design and development.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Antenna requirement evaluation, initial concept trade-off and development, in-house and customer presentations, travel, and technical proposal writing and cost/schedule estimating.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be responsible for the hands-on design and realization of antennas, RF circuits, and components.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Design and/or evaluate RF circuit architecture and RF/antenna performance.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Investigate new technologies and applications for electrically small antennas.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Apply extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Mentor and guide more junior engineers and technicians in the design, build, and test phases of projects and programs.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work is performed without appreciable direction.  Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.   Interacts with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Interface effectively with people at all levels and from diverse areas, seek out responsibilities and opportunities to contribute, regularly meets with customers, provide leadership to groups and teams and guidance to less experienced employees.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform other duties as necessary.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">What You’ll Need:


  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years of related experience.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requires full competency in core RF engineering and antenna theory and skills and potentially stronger specialization in electrically small antennas.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Makes presentations and may lead group discussions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience and skills to effectively contribute to successful producibility of designs and to cost, budget, and schedule control.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with design of electrically small antennas and a broad range of RF components (couplers of various types, amplifiers, filters, mixers)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with microstrip filter design desired.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Analytical design experience using software and simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office/Agilent ADS, CST, FEKO, HFSS, and SENTRI.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with antenna range measurements.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience and proficiency in programming, data manipulation, and data visualization in MATLAB.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to create effective test plans; schedule and execute measurements at internal and external facilities; perform measurement analysis and troubleshooting;
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrated ability to apply significant technical expertise in RF engineering and to leverage knowledge of other related disciplines.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Working Conditions:


  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
