The Systems Engineering Solutions Strategic Business Unit provides advanced systems engineering and technology applications for intelligence and information enterprises. These applications and solutions deliver enterprise data management, data analytics, modeling and simulation, and technology assessment capabilities that are used to create products that offer actionable information in support of warfighters and decision makers.

 

Ball Aerospace’s Albuquerque, New Mexico office is a key provider of science and technology services to the Air Force Research Laboratory and other government research and development organizations. Our multi-discipline staff provides a broad range of scientific and engineering services, including: technology development; diagnostic development; highly-controlled laboratory measurements; field experiments and demonstrations; technology assessments; modeling and simulations; and analyses. We are seeking additional qualified professionals to join our science and technology-oriented organization.

Advanced Systems Manager II – Business Development

 

What you'll do:


•Identify, research and monitor potential business opportunities within the local and national Government markets for subsequent pursuit and capture.
•Use the Ball business development tracking process for developing pursuit and investment decisions.
•Coordinate and collaborate with other business development personnel within the Ball Aerospace organization to pursue larger synergistic opportunities.
•Develop and present to management capture plans using the Ball gated process for business development.
•Be the focal point and representative capture lead for assigned business areas.
•Develop informational material to support proposal preparation, business development and general marketing.
•Prepare and submit proposals, ROMS, RFI/RFQ responses, and white papers.
•Attend Government sponsored industry days, trade shows, and other business-related information gathering events.
•Manage new business indirect budget projects for assigned area.
•Participate in the IR&D coordination and development process for assigned business area.
•Conduct detailed literature searches to identify relevant information pertaining business pursuits of interest.
•Gather, organize and document information necessary to business development discussions and strategy decisions.
•Collaborate with other technologists, researchers, engineers to understand existing or near-term capabilities for formulating business pursuits.
•Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
•Follow Department of Defense procedures for the proper usage and safeguarding of classified information.
•Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
•Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
•Perform other duties as necessary.

 

What you'll need:


•BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
•Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
•Degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field preferred,
•MS or PhD preferred.
•Demonstrated experience with business development.
•Experience working in an engineering or research environment.
•The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
•Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.

 

Working Conditions:


•Work is performed in primarily in an office but may require periodic visits to laboratory or outdoor research environment.
•Travel and local commute between Ball facilities and other non-Ball locations will be required. 

 

Future Clearance Required:

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.  By applying to this position, you are agreeing to complete a National Security Clearance Pre-Screen Questionnaire to evaluate your general ability to obtain the required security clearance or government customer access associated with this position.

Compensation & Benefits

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $132,500 - $183,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
